Degan Katz is many things: a writer, a mother, queer, a feminist, and a creator of messy piles of random objects wherever she goes. She has conquered ADHD (if by conquered you mean “battered it into submission with unfinished To-Do lists in multiple formats and excessive phone alarms”). She contains multitudes, and yet, remains straightforward.

Degan is currently in the midst of writing a modern young adult novel about the first magic user to ever exist: a teenage girl. This intriguing ingenue learns to harness her power while magical creatures evolve around her from other teenagers. As you’d expect, chaos ensues.
